Afghanistan
In December, 2005 the employees of the Russian Museum of Ethnography according to the initiative of the plenipotentiary of the Islamic republic Afghanistan in the Russian Federation, Mr. Gairat Gulyam Sakhi, carried out a research work, main goal of which was to elaborate programs aimed on creation of the national historical and ethnological museum of Afghanistan.

From the White Sea to Bering Strait
The Russian Museum of Ethnography (RME) together with the "Laboratory of the Heat Power Plant" is carrying out a long-term transcontinental expedition project "From the White Sea to Bering Strait".

"Ethnographic Bureau" V.N. Teneshev's archive
The Russian Museum of Ethnography started in 2003 a long-term program of publishing the documents of the V.N. Tenishev's "Ethnographic Bureau" which are kept in the Manuscript Department of the museum. The fund of the "Bureau" contains the materials that characterize the socio-cultural life of Russian peasants at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
