Journal "Museum.Traditions. Ethnicity"

The journal "Museum.Traditions. Ethnicity" is published twice a year and distributed on the territory of the Russian Federation. The complete on-line version of the edition is available on the Russian Museum website.

The editorial board of the journal "Museum.Traditions. Ethnicity" invites Russian and foreign authors to submit their articles focused on ethnic history, ethnic processes, and cross-ethnic contacts as well as on the conservation and presentation of ethnographic collections from Russian and foreign museums. The main subjects of the journal are presented in following rubrics: "From the history of ethnography", "Ethnic traditions in culture", "Museum forms of ethnicity's translation", "Ethnographic field studies, museum collections, archives", "Reviews", "Personalia".

The editorial board accepts articles, reports, and notes written in Russian (by Russian authors) and in English (by foreign authors), their total volume should be no longer than 1,5 author's sheet (60,000 characters). The articles of foreign authors should be accompanied by summary in Russian.
Guidance for texts' submission in the journal "Museum. Traditions. Ethnicity"

The manuscripts should fit paper of A4 format (210x297mm). The sides' length: the right one 20 mm, the left one 20 mm, the upper 20 mm, the lower 20 mm. It is permitted to use italics, bold italics and boldface to emphasize text elements. The automatic installation of intervals to justify captions should be avoided.

The manuscripts are submitted in printed (2 copies) and electronic (RTF format) versions with pagination, running-titles shouldn't be made.

The font is 12 Time New Roman point, one and half-spaced throughout. The references to publications should be made in the end of text with Arabic numeration. The all-union state standard 7.0.5. should be used for references (Please, consult the section ''Endnote bibliographic references").

Diagrams, charts, and drawings should be submitted in the JPEG format.

All illustrative material should have captions and explanatory notes if necessary, all illustrations should be referred in the text. The word "Figure", its number, title, and explanatory data should be put below the illustration. Illustrations should be numerated with Arabian numbers. One illustration shouldn't have number.

Illustrations can be also submitted separately in TIFF, JPEG, PSD or EPS format (resolution for full-size imagesshould be no less than 300 dpi ) with prints for page-planning. In exceptional cases two copes of photographs in suitable for reproduction format are accepted with consent of editorial board. The author's name and illustration's number are written down on the backside of each printed copy of image. The illustrations' list and their titles to them are attached separately (with reference to the place of original's location, manuscript's code, original sheets' numbers and the object's inventorory number).

The museum and archive materials are accepted only with permission of their owners, both institutions and individuals.

The electronic version of article and its printed version (2 copies), submitted to journal, should be completely identical. Corrections, additions, etc. made without consent of editorial board aren't accepted.
The Structure of Published Materials

Reviewing of Publications

Reviewing of publication submitted to the journal "Museum.Traditions.Ethnicity".

1. The manuscripts submitted to the editorial board "Museum.Traditions.Ethnicity" are revised by the chief editor, editorial board concerning their correspondence to the journal's problematics and requirements for publications' format.

2.The manuscripts submitted to editors office are registered and sent to be reviewed to one or if necessary more reviewers.The choice of reviewers is made by the editorial board of journal and the chief editor.

3. The reviewers are informed that the manuscripts sent to them are copyright of their authors and confidential. Reviewers aren't permited to use unpublished manuscripts for any other purpose. The information about reviewer's identity is confindential.

4. The manuscripts' reviewers are submitted unsigned and without indication of reviewer's surname, position, and employment by editorial board to authors of manuscripts upon their written request.

5. The reviewer can be sent to the Higher Attestation Comission of the Russian Federation upon request of expert counsells.

6. If the review on article contents comments concerning the necessity of its correction, it is sent back to its author for follow-up revision. In this case the date of return of revised article is considered as the date of its submission.

7. The article sent back to its authors for follow-up revision should be returned corrected by the date established by editorial board. The revised manuscript should be accompanied by letter from its author containing answers to all the comments and explaining any change made in article.

8. If upon reviewer's recommendation the article was significantly revised and changed by its author, it is submitted for second reviewing by the same reviewer, who made critical comments.

9. The editorial board keeps the right to reject the article in case of auhor's reluctance to accept their recommendations.

10. In case of two negative reviewes on manuscript sent by two reviewers it will be rejected by editorial board.

11.The member of editorial board appointed by the chief editor informs the author of rejected article about their decision.

12.The maximal term of reviewing (between the date of manuscript submission and the date of editors board's decision) is three months.

13. The reviewers' originals are kept in editors' office during three years since the article's publication.
