Wooden vessels for tea and kumis (mare milk) are the common jar for the Mongol peoples and it indicates the Central Asia origin of the Kalmiks. Tea and kumis were drawn in such vessels before serving the table. In the unusual decoration of the vessels one can find the influence of the Northern Caucasus peoples.
