Beer in the Russian Village
The exhibition represents rich brewing traditions of the Russian village is open.
This exhibition is devoted to the richest traditions of home and industrial brewing, and also to the culture of drinking beer on the territory of Russia.
In Rus' from old times beer accompanied all significant rituals from rites bound to the life cycle to the community festivals. That is why this extended exhibition introduces to the visitors not only technological aspects of the brewing but also culture of its drinking, semantics and ritual functions of the beverage as well as their interpretations in the folklore and traditional beliefs. The exhibition embraces the period from late 17th to early 20th century.
This part of exhibition consists of two thematic sections: The first one is devoted to, "Brewing" the second one -"Beer serving and drinking".
Objects on display are supplemented by records of the folklore texts and "beer" songs, performed at feasts.
On more than 80 square meters area are represented about 100 exhibits devoted to the theme of "Water of life" - beer.
The final section of the exhibition is devoted to the main marklands in the history of the first brewing enterprise of Russia - the factory named after Stepan Razin, which has been preserving the Russian beer brewing traditions for centuries.
