Russian traditional costume
The new permanent exhibition "Russian Traditional Costume was opened to public in December 27 2008. It includes 32 women's, men's, and children's costumes, some details, accessories, and ornaments, dated by 19-early 20 centuries. They all are authentic objects of Russian people's daily, which came to museum upon the ethnographic expeditions, organized between 1902- 2000 years.

Opening of the permanent exhibition "Russian Traditional Costume" The new permanent exhibition "Russian Traditional Costume was opened to public in December 27 2008. It includes 32 women's, men's, and children's costumes, some details, accessories, and ornaments, dated by 19-early 20 centuries. They all are authentic objects of Russian people's daily, which came to museum upon the ethnographic expeditions, organized in 1902- 2000 гг. Here one can see on display all the main complexes of women's and man's clothes, and also their variants, which appearance was determined by various historical experiences, vast spaces, inhabited by Russians, and their contacts with other peoples and cultures. . The exhibition mainly represents festive clothing, put on great holidays like the Easter, the Christmas, the Trinity Sunday, the Christmastide, the Maslenitsa festival, festivals of particular temples and votes, and during the family events. Excellent supplementary to the exhibition is a series of slide-films, composed of museum photograph. This exhibition is the fruit of joint efforts, exceptional devotion and enthusiasm of museum's curators and artists. The authors of exhibition concept and thematic plan were the research workers of the Department of Russian People Isabella Shangina, the chief supervisor of project, Natalia Sosnina, Tatjana Zimina., and Elena Madlevskya. The exhibition's design was made by Boris Robencom and Yuri Detinkin, the construction layout was elaborated by V. Zarevsky..
