27.02 - 28.03.2010. Personal exhibition of Norwegian architecture Kristin Jarmund
The mobile exhibition "Kristin Jarmund's selected works" reminds of Russian Doll, inside which there are a lot of amazing discovering and outlooks.
20 years ago Kristin Jarmund successfully began her career and at present she is one of the most progressive architects of the newest history of Norwegian architecture. Norwegian national museum of art, architecture and design published the second monograph devoting to Jarmund's creative work and it indicates her role in Norwegian architectural environment.
Kristin Jarmund's works have exceptionally distinctiveness. She manages to include unexpected forms and interesting variations in hard bounds which she herself and her assistants set for architectural form expression. It is not necessary to create something beautiful, but it is important to give to buildings their peculiarity, using urban and nature landscapes. All these factors promote her buildings to add to Norwegian history of architecture.
This exhibition was shown in 7 countries. It consists of Jarmund's 10 selected works - 10 buildings which were designed by her plans - house on Fyrstikkterrassen, building of Weight and Measure Department, R?holt school, Benterud School, Stortingsgata 6, "The Treadure" building in Sandvika, Nydalen station, The Caf? in the National Gallery, The New Norwegian Embassy Kathmandu, Nepal. The photos made by Per Maning are enclosed with project sketches, examples of materials and 2 models.
In Saint-Petersburg exhibition will be displayed in collaboration with Norwegian Consulate General in Saint-Petersburg, The Russian Museum of Ethnography and Pro Arte Fund.
